Celebrating Financial Literacy Month: Faithful Stewardship and Generosity

April is Financial Literacy Month, a time dedicated to learning about responsible money management and the impact financial literacy has on individuals, families, and communities. As people of faith, we recognize that financial stewardship is not just about numbers—it’s about values, priorities, and living a life of generosity and wisdom.

Faith and Financial Stewardship

Throughout the Bible, God provides guidance on money, stewardship, and generosity. From the law of sowing and reaping to the importance of saving and giving, Scripture teaches us that how we handle our resources is a reflection of our faith.

📖 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." – Philippians 4:6-7

Money can be a source of stress, but Scripture reminds us that we do not walk alone. God calls us to be wise stewards, ensuring that we are not only providing for our own needs but also uplifting those around us.

A Prayer for Financial Wisdom

Lord, guide us in teaching our children about financial literacy as we celebrate the gifts You have given us—our time, our money, and our possessions. May we honor You by using these gifts wisely and sharing our knowledge with others. Amen.

What Can We Do?

Financial literacy is a powerful tool, and we are called to use our knowledge to uplift and support others. Here are some ways to take action:

  • Educate Yourself & Others – Take time this month to learn more about personal finance and share that knowledge with friends, family, or those in need.

  • Encourage Generosity – Whether through tithing, charitable giving, or helping a neighbor in need, financial wisdom includes using resources to bless others.

  • Start Conversations – Money can be a difficult topic, but open, honest discussions help break down barriers and create a culture of financial awareness and responsibility.

  • Support Financial Literacy Programs – There are many resources available to help people of all ages build strong financial habits.
