Good morning, church. My name is Judy Jacobson. I'm a member of our Living Water committee. Living Water intentionally seeks to enable communities worldwide with safe and reliable uses of water. Right now, 703 million people around the world lack access to clean and safe drinking water.
That's one out of ten of us. One of Trinity's core values is Christ-inspired service. Serving with Living Water has helped me to fulfill this value. Today, I'd like to tell you a story about a community in Sierra Leone in West Africa called Bevehun.
This is a photo of the only water source that the people of Bevehun had access to.
This water was used for drinking, washing, cleaning, laundry—everything. This water was not in any way safe to drink. No one on earth should have to drink water that looks like this. It robs people of health and freedom, keeps kids out of school, and holds back communities from flourishing. Charity Water, one of our trusted partners, stepped in and brought life-changing clean water to everyone anxious to have clean water to drink.
The people of Bevehun worked for two years in order to provide access for the huge drilling rig to come into their village.

When the community gets access to clean water, the changes that happen cannot be overstated. Immediately, people start living healthier, happier lives. Thank you for all your generosity to Living Water.
This makes it possible for villages like Bevehun to begin to thrive instead of merely survive. Living Water has been gifted a couple of these books called Thirst, which is the story of Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity Water. If you'd like to read it—and it's a very good read—just get in touch with me. Good morning.
