It was an average (?) day. Our Neighbors were happy to be inside where they could comfortably visit while enjoying hot coffee or chocolate. Our pantry assembled and gave 71 grocery bags, 1 family box, and food bags to three canine companions.
Thank you to Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation for hot burritos this morning! Also thank you for the gift of a month's supply of tuna packets, cold cereals, hot cereals, cheese sticks, and mandarins. That's significant nutrition.
Also, sincere thanks on behalf of our Neighbors to Nurse Gail and Nurse Joyce from Mercy Watch. They served nine Neighbors this morning for a variety of wounds and symptoms. Their once monthly visits are significant health care for our community. During 2024 they served a total of 112 Neighbors, providing skilled wound care, checks of vital signs, hygiene instruction, and bountiful healthcare encouragement. We are so grateful for your presence.
Say lots of prayers for our Neighbors this week. The weather promises to be frosty cold. The cold weather shelter will be open each night, but the days are cold as well. May they find and respect indoor welcome.
With thanks for your work and your care for our Neighbors,
Joan
