No apology offered for opening with a tragic picture. When the night is bitter cold and you sleep outside, you unwillingly and automatically fall asleep soon after you enter a warm room.
These two and all of the rest of our Neighbors especially enjoyed hot chocolate this morning.
Thank you to the team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church for hot burritos and that welcome hot chocolate.
Our pantry served 84 Neighbors, 2 families, and 5 dogs this morning. They were, as always, a busy team.
It's important to acknowledge a hero this morning when we had cold and grouchy Neighbors. Bill, an active Nest Mission volunteer, attends every Saturday to play his guitar. The background music sets a peaceful tone. When a Neighbor got out of control and began to scream at other Neighbors, Bill asked her if she would get him a cup of coffee. She was so pleased to be needed! She happily got his coffee and was a calm guest through the rest of the morning.
Moments later, an argument broke out at one of the tables. Bill joined the table and quickly had everyone singing with him. Best harmony ever! Thank you, Bill, for reminding us how love works.
On behalf of our Neighbors, thank you for your prayers and your presence.
