Pastor Hector to Attend the Asia Lutheran International Conference in Malaysia

Epiphany greetings to you, my siblings in Christ.

I pray and hope that you are all doing well as we embark on a new chapter in this journey called "life."

You might recall that two years ago, I attended the Asia Lutheran International Conference (ALIC) for Lutheran pastors and non-rostered leaders in Thailand. This conference occurs every two years in an Asian country where there is a Lutheran presence.

This year, the conference will take place in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Jade and I will be attending from January 10 to January 21. The theme is "Lift Every Voice."

This conference is part of my ongoing education and spiritual growth. As you know, my ministry has always been about serving people of diverse cultures and faith traditions within the Lutheran denomination across different countries. That is my calling to the ministry. My inspiration and energy come from experiencing new cultural expressions of spirituality.

I believe my learnings will enhance my ministry with you at TLCS, possibly expanding theological insights, ministry ideas, and energy. These experiences invigorate and energize me.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I will share my learnings with you through preaching, teaching, and casual conversations with those interested after worship on February 16, 2025.

And many thanks to my colleagues who will continue to shepherd the Trinity community while I'm away.

May you have a blessed rest of your week, and I will see you on January 26.

Your sibling and servant in Christ.

Pastor Hector Garfias-Toledo
